Joan is dually Board Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, which gave her a solid foundation in psychotherapy and systems prior to becoming a psychiatric prescriber. She has over 42 years experience as a psychiatric nurse is certified (and passionate) about EMDR treatment. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches for anxiety, PTSD, depression, mood disorders, sleep difficulties and trauma. Joan spent 26 years at the VA, and is well versed with providing mental health care to veterans, along with others who've experienced trauma. In addition, Joan has overseen individual and group psychotherapy along with medication management.

Joan values spending time with her family, rest and relaxation, prioritizing time for yoga and meditation, walking her dogs, and adventures rescuing animals in the community. Joan is a strong advocate for social causes and is active in the nursing community.

Joan sees individuals aged 18+ via Wednesdays and Fridays. Accepting medication management.
